Little Miss Sophia *1 Year Old* {Littles!}

I've had the distinct privilege of watching Little Miss Sophia grow from a tiny little newborn, to her beautiful, sassy little one year old self.  It's been a blast from day one, I just knew this little girl was going to steal my heart, and she did.

Some things I learned about Little Miss Sophia at her one year old session: First, her smile has grown impossibly bigger.  How do these little ones do that?!  Second, she does NOT like to sit down when you want her to.  And third, she's sooo super curious, and I love it.  Those curious little ones are absolutely fascinating, watching them touch and explore and learn :)

I had a wonderful one year session with Little Miss Sophia, and it has been absolutely wonderful photographing her over the last year.  Thank you for the great opportunity Sierra and Nate and I hope to see you all again soon to capture some more exciting moments with Sophia!

We've done several sequence shots of Little Miss Sophia over the last year.  This set has always been in mom and dad's hands.  Previously, Sophia was laying down, but this time she got to sit up!  If you'd like to see the rest of these images, find her other posts!

This is another of the sequence shots we did.  In the first 2 sessions, Little Miss Sophia was lying in the nest.  During her 6 month session, she sat up in it, and here she's standing in front of the nest, playing with her owl friends.  This one was so much fun! :)

Selena & Nick {Engaged!}

It's been a cold, long, bitter winter.  But it wasn't enough to stop Nick and Selena from taking beautiful outdoor portraits for their engagement!

We started at Crystal Lake Park with cozys under the blanket and a walk along the snowmobile path.  Nick and Selena both were shivering from the cold but held in there laughing and enjoying their time together!

We headed on into town where we got a little relief from the wind and some beautiful light and Nick learned how to dip!

A big congratulations to Nick and Selena.  I enjoyed our fantastic session (even if I was frozen to the bone!) and am very much looking forward to your wedding.   :)

Madison O. *Class of 2014* {Seniors!}

Madison is a Class of 2014 Senior.  She's a super sweet ice skating coach with a natural flare for photos.  I had a blast posing her between her various outfits with a ton of natural movements and lots of laughter.

I had a great time laughing and creating with you Madison, thank you so much for a laid back, beautiful session and congratulations on your upcoming graduation and best of luck to you in the future!

This image proved to be a favorite between Madison and her parents.  Sometimes a single expression can say more than a whole session.  Great image.

And of course, with the amazing personality Madison showed, I was able to catch a few custie images to make everyone smile :)

I think this one, however, is perhaps my favorite of the session.  The look of enjoyment and the drama of the colors is simply stunning.

Samantha, Curt and Baby P *Maternity* {Soon-to-Be!}

I had been incredibly excited for this session for a long time and so, when the wind was blowing, huge snowflakes were falling and it was maybe not so great to travel, I was really disappointed for a reschedule.  However, the following weekend proved to be an absolutely gorgeous sunny 35 degrees (hey, it IS Wisconsin!) and the wind seemed to be almost nonexistent as we got started with this beautiful maternity session.

Samantha and I had been meeting for quite a few months preparing her maternity timeline leading up to this session at 36 weeks.  Throughout this time I learned that Samantha and Curt were keeping themselves very busy with volleyball and home renovations, and keeping their baby name a big ol' secret!  Their home is coming together nicely and their name is still a secret and I remembered one thing I knew about this couple from the past, they sure are a blast and are up, for just about anything :)

I had a wonderful session Samantha and Curt, and I really, really can't wait to meet Baby P!  I'm sure he is going to be absolutely adorable and I'm telling you right now, he's gonna sleep for me.  Isn't that right, Mr Baby P? I'll see you all very soon!

I'm HUGE on gorgeous landscapes and even more so on landscaped black and whites.  This real moment was beautiful in color, but it's stunning in black and white.  Samantha and Curt haven't received their images yet, but I have! And this 8x16 is even more amazing in print.

Samantha is without a doubt as beautiful pregnant as not and that smile shines even brighter!  This is another stolen moment, laughing at Curt.  Gorgeous.

The Comella Family {Families!}

The Comella's have been growing!  You may remember their gorgeous family photo from 2 years ago, you know, the one with the sweet little girls in front of mom and dad with big brother holding it all together in the back, up against the red wall?  I loved that photo, but now that Little Mr Vinnie is here, it was time for a new one!  So they all packed into the car and met me at the park where we shot these little beauties.

It was pretty cold outside, but the kids were troopers and we brought everyone together for a little fall time magic.  Enjoy :)

Little Miss Adelynn *3 Months Old* {Littles!}

October also brought Little Miss Adelynn back for her 3 months session with her mommy, daddy, and big sister Annika.

Another smiley baby, she looked gorgeous in the late morning sunlight chilling in a few different baskets, recreating her sister's 3 month session to hang on the wall beside her.  I had a ton of fun watching the many expressions this beautiful little girl has and posing her with her big sister, a rare treat!

Thank you Adelynn for being so super adorable.  I'm excited to see you soon for your next session!

Little Miss Sophia *6 Months Old* {Littles!}

My goodness, who could resist this sweet little girl?  Continuing in the First Year Baby program, Little Miss Sophia completed her 6 month session in October!  Complete with an adorable kitty outfit ;)
Little Miss Sophia is now sitting, laughing (snorting and all!) pulling herself up and winning the heart of every person she meets with those gorgeous blue eyes!

It was a pleasure Sophia, as always, and I can't wait for your 1 year session!

Kelly and Randy {Sweethearts!}

I've had the opportunity this year to photograph some amazing couples.  I'd like to introduce you to the latest!  Meet Kelly and Randy, who won a birthday club giveaway and used it for couples portraits!

We started the day in Beaver Dam photographing just outside Randy's house then hit up Olin Turvill park in Madison!  It was a race against the sun, but the light was definitely on our side and made the images super soft and romantic.

I had a great time with you both, I can't wait for our viewing!

Enjoy :)

Nicholas is 4 years old! {Littles!}

My husband and I have some of the most adorable nieces and nephews ever (Although, I could be biased)  It's been my honor to photograph many of them throughout the years.  One of these adorable Littles is Nicholas, who turned 4 a week ago :)

Nic4-smaller.jpg

This adorable little dude loves cars, specifically all Mustangs, and loves to help grandma in the garden pruning flowers and picking raspberries and he is oh, so sweet.  We had some fun running around Crystal Lake Park and posing with dad.  He enjoyed many Tootsie Rolls for smiling nice and it was, as always, a wonderful time.  Thank you Nicholas and happy birthday again little dude!

Josh *Class of 2014* {Portraits!}

Meet Josh!  Josh is a Class of 2014 Senior Spokesmodel for Mae Photographics from Columbus!  Josh is a wrestling manager and an active biking enthusiast!  It's so great to see young people so involved in nature and tranquil activities.

Josh was so full of expression, love for his dog Koda and his family, and smiles!  Oh the smiles!  We had a wonderful session at Astico Park and downtown Columbus.  Josh, it was truly a pleasure.  If you know Josh, make sure to get a wallet from him!  There's a special deal on the back :)

The Ritzema Family {Families!}

The Ritzema's.  It all started with Kellie, a prior co-worker of mine, and her adorable girls when they were 2 and 8.  Then, 2 Christmases ago, she and her sisters purchased a full family session for her parents.  Then last year, for her husband's family, and one of her sisters purchased for HER husband's family.  I've photographed nearly every individual child and family related to Kellie on both sides of her family and several weeks ago, finally got to photograph the Ritzema family as a whole.  And my oh my, was it ever a fun filled, beautiful session.  We laughed, and laughed so hard we cried, and had loads of fun posing and joking and making silly faces.  The result?  A beautifully lit session that will blend so well on every wall this family owns :)

Enjy a few of the days favorites!

Madi & Brandyn {Sweethearts!}

Birthday club winners can do anything they want with their session.  Madison wanted portraits of herself, but she also wanted some with her boyfriend, Brandyn.  So after we took gorgeous images of Madi, we took some shots of her and Brandyn!  There was much giggling involved, and a little persuasion, but we coaxed out some genuine smiles and this is what we got!  I think we did a fantastic job :)

Madi & Brandyn were amazing :) This is an idea I've been rolling around for awhile, and they were PERFECT for it and were up for it no questions asked. Thank you two for being so much fun!

Little Miss Sophia, 3 months old! {Littles!}

Little Miss Sophia is a member of my First Year Baby program.  Earlier this year, I had the pleasure of shooting her gorgeous newborn photos and last weekend I got to go back for her 3 month session!   Sophia is smiling now and almost ticklish, she has learned how to effectively stick her tongue out at the camera, she responds to her name, grabs her toes and is very, very alert.

Mom and I both love Alice in Wonderland, and upon hearing from Auntie that it was obsessively played during Mom's childhood, I decided to throw out a fun thought....what about a teacup and mini top-hat, Unbirthday style?  Last time Sophia was not intent on trying the teacup, so we went for it first this time around, and thankfully, she still fits.

Mom and Dad both love the idea of documenting her growth through the same images, staged slightly different each time so I got to take back my nest, do Daddy's hands and the crown of Sophia's head (but this time she was holding her toes! EEps!) and repeat Sophia with Mommy & Daddy both holding her.  I can't wait to show off the story boards of these when they're all done!   So, without further a-due I present to you, Sophia, month 3.

Lindsey turns 8 {Littles!}

Meet Lindsey!  Lindsey is a member of our June birthday club and turned 8 this year!  I have been lucky enough to photograph little Lindsey many times and each time I'm taken by her sparkling personality.  Laughs that are contagious and smiles that are a photographers dream Lindsey loves the camera, and it loves her right back :)
A few tid-bits about Lindsey - she loves to dance, is a huge fan of Monster High (no kidding!) and is wicked on a calculator and makes beautiful leaf bouquets, or maybe those last two were just her 3 year old self (te-he)

Happy birthday Lindsey!  Thank you so much for a fun filled session to remember.

I really dug this bridge, and with Lindsey, it's all about the real moments, real smiles, real laughs, real curiosity and reactions.  I LOVED this real giggle.

Mom wanted a flower field, which we decided to nix after hearing about how bad the ticks are this year!  But we did find these freshly mown paths throw some grasses, so we took a teensie step in.  So pretty :)

Mrs R {Boudoir}

This amazing, confident client contacted me for her 25th wedding anniversary.  The challenge?  Create something amazing for her husband's gift.  He's on the road a lot and she wanted something special he could take with him.  So mini albums it is!

Boudoir is something, I'll admit, that I haven't had the opportunity to photograph a lot of.  But this session proved many things to me.  First, that I really can do anything I put my mind to.  Second, that I have some of the most amazing clients ever, and I really do love getting to know each and every one of them.  And finally, that there are women out there that truly do love themselves for who they are.  You see, all too often I hear gorgeous women critique themselves negatively.  But Mrs R looked right at my retouch clause and said 'I don't want to be retouched, this is who I am.'  I was floored.  Here's a woman saying to me, don't edit me, and I admire her for her confidence.

Session day came with oodles of fun outfits, some great background music, and smiles and posing galore.  Without further a-do, I give you, Mrs R.

Mrs R really wanted a few images with her wedding dress, which still fit!  So she brought it out of its box, where it's been carefully stored for nearly 25 years, put it on, and we created a little magic.  There are many, many more, but I love the softness of this stunning black and white image.

Adelynn {Soon-to-be!}

Maternity sessions are some of my favorite sessions.  What could possibly be more rewarding than photographing a beautiful, glowing soon-to-be mother in the midst of one of the most rewarding experiences of life, motherhood?

This particular Mommy ventured out in the cold for me and we got some spectacular images of Mommy, Big Sister and soon-to-be Little Miss Adelynn.  Mom was full of ideas she'd seen and loved, so we spun a little magic and made them our own!  Mom was even willing to recreate a pre-baby image we took studio style of her beautiful side tattoo several years ago!

Enjoy :)

I don't do color-pops very often.  There are very, very few images that this technique looks even remotely good in.  The 2 images I've taken of this tattoo are 2 of only 3 I've ever done, and I LOVE them. :)
